Using Sharon Griffin's expressive approach as inspiration, you'll create your own sculptural portrait piece without internal armature support, learning to build forms and work with the clay's own structural integrity.

This workshop will cover:

• Building a self-supporting bust form

• Modeling facial features and expression

• Creating surface texture and detail

• Finishing techniques

Suitable for those with some ceramics experience or confident beginners willing to embrace the experimental process. All materials and tools provided. Your piece will be fired and available for collection after the workshop.

Zoe is a ceramic artist with experience in technical studio practice, teaching, and gallery work. She has worked as a ceramics technician running a college studio and now teaches ceramics to beginners and intermediate students. Her work has been included in selected exhibitions and gallery sales. Alongside her teaching practice, Zoe maintains an active studio practice creating figurative sculptural pieces and wheel-thrown forms, and is experienced in Raku firing. Her approach to teaching emphasizes the tactile, meditative qualities of working with clay while building fundamental skills and confidence.
