Maddie Webb is a contemporary fine artist, arts educator and Founding Director of Lighthaus Arts CIC, based in Warwickshire. She holds an MFA in Fine Art from Falmouth University and is an Associate Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA).
Her painting practice explores the shifting boundaries between landscape, memory and emotion, with a particular interest in liminal spaces, atmospheric light and the relationship between abstraction and representation. Inspired by the changing qualities of sea, sky and land, her work seeks to capture fleeting moments of stillness, uncertainty and transformation.
Working primarily in oils, Maddie adopts an intuitive, exploratory approach to painting, building surfaces through successive layers of translucent glazes, expressive mark-making, soft blending and subtle erasure. Her process moves between observation, memory and imagination, allowing images to emerge, dissolve and evolve organically.
Alongside her studio practice, Maddie has over 20 years’ experience in arts education and is passionate about nurturing creativity and making contemporary art accessible. As Founding Director of Lighthaus Arts CIC, she leads the development of Stoneleigh Arms Arts Space, supporting artistic experimentation, collaboration and community engagement.
