Ceramic Membership Terms & Conditions
Membership & Payment
Memberships are set up as a monthly subscription, charged in advance. A minimum commitment of 2 months applies to all tiers. After this initial period, your subscription continues on a rolling monthly basis. Should you wish to cancel, one month’s written notice is required. Membership fees are subject to annual review with a minimum of one month’s notice of any changes given to members.
Induction
All new members must complete a studio induction and health & safety briefing before accessing the studio. Members who have been inactive for 12 months or more may be required to complete a refresher induction. Induction fees are non-refundable.
Studio Access & Use
Studio access is for independent practice only and does not include tuition. Members must be aged 18 or over. Access hours are 8am–11pm, subject to scheduled classes, events and studio closures. Pottery wheels may be unavailable during timetabled sessions. Stoneleigh Arms reserves the right to amend access hours or facilities with reasonable notice.
Clay & Materials
Only approved stoneware and porcelain clay bodies are permitted in the studio. No earthenware or air-dry clay. Members are responsible for sourcing their own materials where applicable to their membership tier. Clay recycling is permitted but members must actively participate in the studio recycling system and store reclaim correctly.
Kiln Firings
Monthly firing allowances are subject to fair-use policy, based on standard load sizes. Oversized or unusual pieces may incur an additional charge. Unused firing allowances do not roll over to the following month. Additional firings can be booked at member rates, subject to availability.
Storage
Personal storage is allocated subject to availability (Open Access tier) or guaranteed (Studio Plus and above). Stoneleigh Arms accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to members’ belongings, materials or artwork left on the premises. Items left in unauthorised areas may be removed.
Studio Rules
Members are expected to leave the studio clean and tidy after every session, including cleaning tools, wiping down surfaces, washing wheels (including legs and foot pedal) and switching off all equipment. Misuse of equipment, failure to clean up, or behaviour that disrupts other members may result in suspension or termination of membership.
Suspension & Termination
Stoneleigh Arms Arts Spacereserves the right to suspend or terminate a membership without refund in the event of breach of studio rules, unsafe practice, non-payment, or conduct that is disrespectful to staff or fellow members. Memberships are non-transferable.
Liability
Participation in studio activities is at the member’s own risk. Stoneleigh Arms holds public liability insurance but does not insure members’ personal property or artwork. Members are advised to arrange their own contents insurance if required.
Equality & Inclusion
Stoneleigh Arms is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all. Discrimination, harassment or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of membership.
The Pay Date Rule
Cancellation notice must be submitted prior to your upcoming Pay Date to avoid the following month's charge. Example: If your Pay Date is the 15th of each month and you wish to cancel, you must provide notice by the 14th of the current month. Your membership will then remain active until the 14th of the following month, and no further payments will be taken. If notice is given after the Pay Date, one final scheduled payment will be collected, and your membership will terminate at the end of that subsequent billing cycle.
