Zélie is a fine artist based in Warwick, working primarily in oil painting. Her work explores intimate domestic life, portraits and figures caught in quiet moments, disrupted by colour, abstraction and memory.She came to painting later in life, drawn to the human figure and the spaces people inhabit, the small gestures and ordinary scenes that accumulate into something charged. She is still finding out what her paintings can do, and that sense of exploration is present in the work.Zélie is currently studying fine art, a process that has deepened her engagement with critical ideas and pushed her practice into new territory. Recently she has begun experimenting with three-dimensional work, finding unexpected connections between this and her work on canvas.Zélie is available for commissions.
