Inspired by the changing qualities of sea, sky and land, her work seeks to capture fleeting moments of stillness, uncertainty and transformation.

Working primarily in oils, Maddie adopts an intuitive, exploratory approach to painting, building surfaces through successive layers of translucent glazes, expressive mark-making, soft blending and subtle erasure.
